Why?

Last month (February) I had realized that I don't really have many long term projects, so I started looking for something cool I could do for fun over the course of 1 year or so. And the idea actually just came up out of nowhere (tru story). Also, I never smoked in my life (and don't really plan on starting).

I got 500 Havana Tobacco seeds on Amazon for 8€, fine deal in my opinion. I have no idea how much a pack of cigarettes goes for, I do have an idea that cigars can be from 5€ to the hundreds really quick for a single stick, so it is also something profitable (but of course its illegal to sell so I OBVIOUSLY will not sell it.)

How?

Well its still kinda cold outside so I start the seeds in a vase indoors, after 1~2 weeks it should start looking like small plants, and then I really just have to wait and remember to water it (well, hopefully thats it). They are very delicate plants and they grow really slow.

After a while I will have to transplant it to the outside, I hope to find a good spot on my garden to put it.

Then what?

I will probably dry it and just store in jars or whatever, the possible uses are many. I can make cigars, cigarettes, or smoke it in a pipe. If I had to choose (again, I never smoked in my life), I would probably smoke just cigars are they are just rolled leafs, and pipe tobacco is usually a blend, just like coffee maybe (I have no idea).

I will occasionally document how the tobacco is doing and will then explain the techniques I end up using. Most of my information about how to grow tobacco is random websites and some youtube videos, however, I think youtube videos are horrible when you are trying to get deep knowledge on something, random websites usually have the same info as the youtube videos. So I will just try and get my own experience.

I already failed once, I was about 2 weeks in, my tobacco was beautiful and then it died, most likely from me touching it.

Either way I will hopefully have many quantities of tobacco that I can use for whatever I want.
